Being the "artist" that I am... (pauses for dramatic effect) I had this great idea for a tattoo on the BACK of my hand (prime location BTW), of a hand holding a paintbrush, and painting a Celtic cross.
It's like tattoo inception... or a cry for help from a kid who just should have been allowed to put a few of their hobbies on a class ring or letterman jacket or something...
Now, before you cringe so hard that you crack a molar, IN MY DEFENSE
in the early oughts, Irish/Celtic heritage was having a cultural moment (*see River dance, Celtic Women, The Corrs, influences throughout LOTR and many other popular movies...)
and though my particular design would have been regrettable now, it was nothing if not original (unlike the tribal barbed wire nonsense that was commonplace at the time).
Now that I'm older and wiser though, I'm just thinking your face, on the left pectoral (a la "Date Night" movie).
Back in college, my roommate and I went out on St Patrick's Day and decided that we should both go get tattoos. But when we got to the ink shop, the two dudes working there had clearly been drinking. I'm not exactly sure where the line of "too drunk for me to trust you with a tattoo needle" is, but I decided to get my eyebrow pierced instead. because in my college-brain, THAT made sense as the responsible thing to do. 2007 was wild.
Also, it's a VERY good thing that I didn't get that tattoo, because I had been sketching it for months and thought it was a masterpiece, but it would have been truly horrendous.
