Welcome to another round of Snack Chats, where we gather ‘round the virtual kitchen island and dish about all the great stuff we’ve been into lately.

I’ve been making my way back to the kitchen after taking most of September off, and it’s felt really good. I revisited these Amish Apple Fry Pies that have been popular on the site for years, and dang, they’ve still got it. I made a few tweaks to make them even better, and I got my husband to give me the full eyes-roll-back-in-head reaction, which is always my goal. Put them on your fall bake list!

And I don’t know what else to say about these Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies except they feel like a grown woman. They’re chewy and rich, with caramelized edges, and a hit of espresso to keep them from being too sweet. Writing about them makes me want to make another batch immediately.

Now, let’s get into the best reads and listens from the month! Plus, I have some skin care recommendations for the super sensitive and rosacea-prone girlies among us.
