We are stubbornly committed to family dinners at our house, but if you’re envisioning a time of quiet, pleasant conversation and exclamations of how amazing the food tastes, you’ve definitely got the wrong family.
The reality is, I often despair over my kid’s pickiness. Or their inability to stay seated for more than five consecutive minutes. Our table is loud and chaotic, and includes some gentle (and not so gentle) coaxing to “Please, just take one bite” and “OMG, please keep your butt in the chair” and “Why is your recorder at the table??”
